Hello, my name is Connor Dooley. I'm a rising Junior at the University of Georgia where I'm studying Computer Science. This is a little game I put together to showcase some of my skills and why I want to work at RoosterTeeth. It's not very long, but please enjoy!
I've had two internships previously, both with a company called Acculynk. There, I worked under the supervision of a mentor who would provide guidelines for projects that I would implement. It was through these internships that I gained a lot of experience working through problems and troubleshooting to ultimately follow through with a project on my own.

I recently watched the RT Doc "Why We're Here" in which Burnie talked about the ethos of "doing more with less". This philosophy is a big part of why I want to work at RoosterTeeth. I think setting limits helps people learn to optimize performance and overcome obsticles in the most efficient way possible.
The reason I chose TIC-80 as the platform for my game is related to this. TIC-80 only allows a small amount of space for code. Try and guess how much space:

That's it! TIC-80 only allows you 64Kb of code for your game. It also limits your color pallette, the number of sprites and sound effects you can store, and more. Of course, these limits don't pose a huge challenge when it comes to this game, but I first picked up TIC-80 because I felt that these limitations would help make me a better programmer. When I started using TIC-80, its limitations forced me to learn to code by hand what many game programming tools would have just handed to me. Prioritizing a solid foundation over polish is important to me, and I see that in the productions and the business model that RoosterTeeth has created.
That was a lot of text, so here's some more fun stuff! Use the arrow keys to move and z to shoot
Move on to the next part by hitting 10 aliens (or you can skip it by pressing x)

Burnie, Matt, Geoff, Jason, Gus, and Joel started this company by themselves.
But over time it's grown, grown and grown
And I hope that I can be a part of the next chapter of RoosterTeeth's story
(or at least part of it for 10 weeks)
Thank you for your consideration
